オリジナルデザインの通称「口ひげ」。Mはボディ下側の2連のくぼみが口ひげmustacheみたいに見えるのと、モダンmodernを掛けた型名です。くぼみを2つにしたのは座って弾くときに体との位置関係を選べるようにというアイデアでした。現実にはクラシックギターのように構える場合以外は一方に落ち着いてしまうと分かりましたが、先端が痛く感じることもなく形もきれいなので特徴としてそのまま採用しています。12フレットのMマークも口ひげぽくしてみました^^

Original design “the mustache”. M is for modern and mustache how the twin concaves in the lower body look like. The idea was that they would serve as dual playing position when sitting. In reality it turned out to be settling into one of them unless the bass is held like classic guitar but the tip does not hurt and the shape is aesthetically pleasing so I keep it for a characteristic. Another tiny mustache can be seen as twelfth fret M marker:)

ルックス、弾き心地、音など、弦の数が増えてもJベースらしいモデルを作りたいと思いました。5弦や6弦のモデルにも正統的なJベースのキャラクターを保ちながら、あわせてOGCによる素晴らしい演奏性を持たせています。電気系も同じく、Jベースらしさと現代性がいい感じに共存するよう構成しています。

I wanted to make J basses that look right, play right and sound right even with more than four strings. The five or six model still retains the character of authentic J bass and the superb playablity enabled by OGC is a bonus. J-ishness and modernity coexist moderately also in electronics configuration.
